Michael "Doc" Hadden: Michael, an accomplished artist, found a new love in hand carving wood signs. He was born in 1960 in Greenville, SC and raised in the small community known as Ware Place. Growing up, he lived on a small farm, where his family raised a few cows, goats and even a horse or two. Michael named his business Doc’s because of a nickname is father gave him as a child. Michael currently lives in Greer, SC with the love of his life, his wife, Karen. He began painting and wood burning in the 1980’s, starting out with oils and decided to try acrylics. He is self-taught with no formal training. His paintings cover various subjects such as landscapes, old houses, barns and waterfowl to name a few. Wood carving has been a natural progression for him. He now carves custom wood signs using a router. His projects include but are not limited to what is shown in this brochure. His wife Karen designs the signs. He says that he learns something new with every project. His hope is to bring joy, happiness, and peace to anyone who views his works - the same thing he feels when creating them. Both Michael and Karen would like to thank God for the gifts and blessings He has given them.
